i just finished reading the letter at www.annointedjw.org, in which they respond to the new bible and its commentary.

interesting opening paragraph: .

"while we can appreciate the decision to revise some of the language to conform to a more modern understanding, we are quite at a loss as to why you would interject so much commentary of your own into such a sacred writing.

My mother came for a visit

all of this new light that is being revealed to the jw's, is turning into a brilliant spotlight... pointing directly at the wts, the members of the self-appointed kings of the governing body, and causing many to examine the truth in a new light.

thank you, governing body, for revealing yourselves in such a bright and outstanding light!!

Duped by my dub mother

i'm not sure what wenr into my mother deciding to send me this email.

i am just sick, and sick and sick of her treating my children and me like we don't matter.

she sent this message, and when i replied she told me it was a joke and then rejected my invitation to lunch, since they'd already made plans with their friends who are moving to the different congregation.

i am looking for things i can say in passing, when i meet some of my jw friends.

we used to attend meetings, but have not been officially recognized yet, as apostates.

we were good and curious students, but fell away and were choked out by weeds.. since i will be renewing my bible student status soon, i am hoping this will open more windows into the organization.

my name is valerie.

i thought i would add my story to the archives, in case anyone else can relate.. i am a homeschooling mom of 2 young children, ages 7 & 5. i was "saved" (overused expression) when i was a child, attended awana until middle school, and then led a basic, worldy life as a "good person.".

one day, during a short separation from my husband, the doorbell rang.

i have been waiting for this moment, and it has finally come!

i was actually in the middle of typing in the other thread, about householders who caused you doubts, when a jw rang my doorbell.

my barking german shepherd didnt scare him away, but did knock all his books out of his hand and onto a wet porch, which i really felt bad about.
